NoA Exhibition: Venice Art Walk & Auction (May 22)

NoA founder Elliot Kotek has had work selected for the 2011 Venice Art Walk & Auction. Held around Venice, Cali. and centered at the Westminster School on Abbot Kinney, some 400 artists are participating in this year's event, which benefits the Venice Family Health Clinic.
Kotek's work is a lone Polaroid 600 (from one of the final batches of the stock produced by Polaroid itself), capturing the surf landscape beneath the Venice Pier. Although the Polaroid itself measures 3.5" x 4.5," the work itself is framed at 28" by 36," meaning that the off-centered image sits within an unsettling, finite void.
Other artists represented at the Venice Art Walk & Auction include Don Bachardy, Gary Palmer, Edwin Ushiro, John Laddie Dill, Brandon Boyd, Alejandro Gehry, Ichiro Irie, Frank Romero and Tom Wudl.
The Art Walk represents the third show of Kotek's Polaroid work so far this year, with an exhibition of a water-landscape series having taken place at Deyermond Art + Books back in January-February 2011, and a current two-month exhibition of a similar series in Santa Monica.
