THE WHOLE 9 GALLERY: OUTSIDE THE ABSTRACT (June 5 - July 31, 2010)

A good friend of the NoA, Mark Acetelli, has a show of new works up at Gallery 9 in Culver City. Comprised of abstract pieces, there is plenty for audiences to absorb, layers of depths able to be interpreted as lakes or oceans, canoes or constructs, heavens or hells. The great thing about abstract works is that no eye is wrong as it searches for a meaning that's personal to the viewer.

The Whole 9 Gallery has fostered a community of artists, with Heidi Huber and Lisa Schulz taking pride in connecting artists with others, and enabling the social and professional networking of artists through group shows in their Culver City space as well as via online portfolios at their site - http://www.thewhole9.com/. With so many name changes in the Culver City art scene the past few months, it's great to see this group-driven gallery continuing to canvas local artists for its exhibitions.

The gallery is situated at
6101 Washington Blvd.
(3 blocks west of La Cienega)
Culver City, CA 90232

(While "Outside the Abstract" runs through July 31st, there is an artists' reception (with wine and music) on June 19, 2010 from 6.30 p.m. until 10.00 p.m. In addition to Acetelli (pictured above with his work), new work from Mark Brunner, Harry Gunderson, Abram Santa Cruz and Natalie Gray is also on show)
