Opening Reception - July 8, 2010, 7 pm -10 pm

The Common Ground exhibit making its way around the world is the result of a 2008 call to action. The curators sought the submission of submit digital art that contributed to the discourse of new media being used in the art world to further environmental activism.

The eco-focus on art in the technological age drew a thousand submissions, of which 85 works were selected (from 23 countries) and curated into the show where they'll be exhibited as prints and on monitors.

I haven't seen the work yet and the NoA isn't directly involved, but hey, the concept is interesting, they've managed to bring high profile sponsors on board, and the opening night event is FREE, so why not check it out and chat about it. There's music by the Eclipse Quartet and L.Croskey, organic munchies, and a portion of all proceeds from the sales of the exhibition catalog and artwork benefit the World Wildlife Fund, Global Giving, and The Global Environmental Institute.

Peace out.
