NoA favorite, Mark Acetelli, has a new series currently on show at Left Coast Gallery in Studio City, CA. Full of the depth and textural fortitude we've come to expect of Acetelli's work, his new series feels primitive in its application, evoking a primal response from the viewer to the abstracted but tenable bloodsport on display. After all, the matador isn't aaaalways victorious.

Left Coast describe the series as "Inspired by his continuing exploration of beast and man, life anddeath, love and loss, Acetelli uses primarilyoils and encaustics to create thickly layered canvases, with emotivebursts of color and texture... He seeks toevoke a feeling rather than depict a defined image."
