SOME THOUGHTS ON THE NATION FROM SOUTH OF THE BORDER: THINKING TECHNOLOGY/THINKING TOOLS
Hey Elliot -
So here's my thoughts.
i'm intrigued with the role gear, setups, equipment plays in the creative process, I've met artists that do more with a 4 year old iBook and iMovie 2 than others with a 17" MacBook Pro's and the full Final Cut Studio Suite,

You wrote about the limitations or un-limitations of artists' resources, and more and more i think that often refers to the digital world. the idea of "...if only i had a... i could..." and those that take the attitude of "I'm going to shoot my music video or video installation using my Treo's shitty video recording." Not as a gimmick, but out of a genuine desire to express via any means necessary.
The question: Would that person be be any more or less creative given X or Y?
In fact every one of the things you mention in your Welcome i think of in terms of digital ecosphere: not "Which artist they have on their walls?" but "Who's pictures have they
favorited on flickr? YouTube?" "What do they subscribe to on their RSS
feed?" "Who do they follow on twitter?" And "Why?"
I think it could provide for a wonderful interview or video for The NoA if, as you're watching an interview, you can also check out the feeds, twitter accounts, etc that the person is talking about.

Luis Sosa is a video artist and filmmaker working in Mexico City. He's been "really into animation lately," especially basic 2D stop motion. Check out http://vimeo.com/4807592 for a piece he just did for a State of Mexico initiative.
